Mogadishu, Somalia – (African Boulevard News) – The Somalia U17 team are set to take on Senegal in their final Group A match of the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with coach Nur Mohamed vowing to “throw everything” at their opponents.

The Somali team has had a tough tournament so far, losing their opening match against Guinea 2-0, and then drawing 1-1 with hosts Morocco in their second game. Despite these setbacks, Coach Mohamed remains optimistic about their chances against Senegal.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game against Senegal, but we’re ready to fight until the end,” Mohamed said. “We’re going to throw everything we have at them and hopefully come out with a win.”

Somalia has struggled in recent years due to the ongoing civil war in the country, which has disrupted the development of football. However, the youth team’s performance in the tournament so far has given supporters hope for the future of Somali football.

“Even though we haven’t won a game yet, we’re proud of the boys for representing Somalia so well,” said one fan. “It’s been a long time since we’ve had something positive to cheer about, so this is really exciting for us.”

Despite Somalia’s determination, Senegal are the favourites going into the match. They have won both of their previous games in the tournament, scoring seven goals and conceding none. The match will be a chance for them to secure their place in the knockout stages of the tournament.

“We’re not underestimating Somalia, they’re a good team and they have a lot of heart,” said Senegal Coach, Malick Daf. “But we’re confident in our abilities and we’re going to try to win the game.”

In conclusion, the match between Somalia and Senegal promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams looking to secure their place in the knockout stages of the TotalEnergies U17 AFCON. Somalia will be hoping to cause an upset and secure their first win of the tournament, while Senegal will be looking to maintain their 100% record. All eyes will be on the pitch as the two teams battle it out for victory.
