    Egypt: North African Giants Esperance and Al Ahly Set for Clash in CAF Champions League Semi-Final

    Cairo, Egypt – (African Boulevard News) – The stage is set for an exciting encounter as North African giants, Esperance of Tunisia and Al Ahly of Egypt, face off in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League. The two sides will compete for a spot in the final and a chance to lift the prestigious trophy.

    Esperance will be looking to maintain their unbeaten home record, having won four and drawn one of their last five matches at home in the competition. The Tunisian side impressed in the quarter-finals, defeating South African side, Mamelodi Sundowns, with a 2-1 aggregate victory.

    Meanwhile, Al Ahly, the powerhouse of Egyptian football and 10-time Champions League winners, secured their place in the semi-finals with a 2-0 aggregate win over Moroccan champions, Wydad Casablanca. The Red Devils will be hoping to continue their rich vein of form as they aim to make it to their fifth final in the last six years.

    The first leg of the semi-final tie will take place at the Stade Olympique de Rades in Tunis on Saturday, with the return leg scheduled to be played at Cairo International Stadium a week later.

    Speaking ahead of the game, Esperance coach, Moine Chaabani, acknowledged the strength of their opponents but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to come out on top. “We know the quality of Al Ahly and their experience in the competition, but we believe in our abilities and will do everything possible to reach the final,” he said.

    On the other hand, Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane, is eagerly anticipating the challenge and is looking forward to a tough battle. “We are excited to play against Esperance. They are a strong team, and we know we will need to be at our best to win the tie,” he said.

    The winner of the semi-final tie will go on to face either Moroccan side, Raja Casablanca, or Algerian outfit, CR Belouizdad, in the final of the competition.
