The opposition rally was a show of strength and defiance, as the APC party rallies behind its flagbearer, Samuel Sam-Sumana, in a bid to unseat the current government led by the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

The APC party has accused the SLPP government of intimidation and harassment of opposition members, but the government has denied the allegations.
“We believe in democracy and the right of opposition parties to hold rallies and campaign freely,” said the country’s Minister of Information, Mohamed Swarray. “We are committed to ensuring a level playing field for all parties in the upcoming elections.”
