    Mali: CAF’s Best XI and Top Players Revealed at U17 Africa Cup of Nations, Who Made the Cut?

    Bamako, Mali – (African Boulevard News) – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released its Best XI of the group stages at the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations, as well as the best coach and player so far in the competition. The announcement came after the conclusion of the group phases, which saw some of Africa’s most promising young talents showcase their skills.

    The Best XI comprises players from different teams that excelled in the group phases of the tournament, which are slated to be held in Morocco from July 13 to 31, 2023.

    In goal is the Zambian keeper, Michael Katungwe, who has been instrumental in helping his team keep three clean sheets in the tournament. In the defense, we have Pape Mathieu Gaye from Senegal, Cameroon’s Serge Zinga, Morocco’s Hanan Ait El Haj, and Zambia’s Lameck Banda, who has also been scoring goals for his team.

    In the midfield, Amadou Darboe from Senegal, Mali’s Mahamadou Coulibaly and Cameroon’s Cedric Wamba provide the perfect balance between defense and attack. Meanwhile, the attack is spearheaded by the likes of Morocco’s Karim Benyamina, who is the tournament’s top scorer so far, and Zimbabwe’s Tinashe Makanda.

    The accolade for the best coach went to Senegal’s Malick Daf, who led his team to three wins in the group stages. And the best player in the tournament so far is none other than Morocco’s Karim Benyamina, who has scored four goals in as many games.

    The TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations is an important platform for African talents to showcase their skills and pave the way for a professional career. The competition is a breeding ground for some of Africa’s brightest football stars, including the likes of Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, and Samuel Eto’o.
