Accra, Ghana – (African Boulevard News) – Tarkwa-Based Medeama SC managed to close the gap on leaders Aduana Stars by clinching a critical 2-1 victory over visiting Bechem United in their match day 30 betPawa Premier League fixture played at the Akoon Park yesterday.

The highly anticipated match saw both teams deliver impressive performances, with Bechem United dominating the opening minutes of the game. However, their dominant possession failed to translate into any clear-cut chances, and they were quickly made to pay for their missed opportunities when Medeama SC took the lead in the 26th minute.

Medeama SC’s attack continued to threaten Bechem United’s defense, with striker Ahmed Toure doubling their lead in the 34th minute with a clinical finish. However, Bechem United refused to go down without a fight and made a late comeback with a goal in the 89th minute but it was too late to change the outcome of the game.

The win leaves Medeama SC with 50 points, four points behind league leaders Aduana Stars, with four games remaining. Aduana Stars, on the other hand, had a disappointing fixture against Karela United, dropping two vital points in their goalless draw.

Despite the result, Aduana Stars still lead the league with 54 points, but their lead has been significantly reduced by Medeama SC’s victory. Karela United, who are still in contention for the league title, occupy third place with 47 points.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Medeama SC coach Samuel Boadu expressed his joy at the team’s performance, stating that he was proud of their determination and work rate. “This was a game we needed to win, and I’m happy that the boys fought hard till the end. We’re still in the race for the title, and we’ll keep pushing until the end of the season,” he said.

In conclusion, Medeama SC’s victory over Bechem United has put them in a strong position to challenge Aduana Stars for the league title. With just four games remaining, the race for the title is still wide open, and fans can expect some exciting fixtures as the season draws to a close.
