Algiers, Algeria – (African Boulevard News) – Algeria’s journey at the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) ended in disappointment as the hosts suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Morocco. Head coach Arezki Remmane was visibly dejected after the full-time whistle, but he remained positive and vowed to return stronger in the next tournament.

“We learned a lot from this tournament, and we will be back better,” Remmane said in a post-match interview. “We were disappointed with the result today, but we have to keep our heads up and continue to work hard. There is a lot of talent in this team, and we have to keep nurturing it.”

The loss to Morocco was a bitter pill to swallow for Algeria, who were hoping to win the tournament in front of their own fans. The team had shown promise in the group stage, winning two of their three matches and scoring seven goals in the process, but they were unable to replicate that form in the knockout stages.

Despite the disappointment, Remmane was keen to emphasize the positives from the tournament. “We gave it our all, and I am proud of the effort that my players put in,” he said. “We played some good football at times, and we showed that we can compete at this level. We have to keep building on that.”

The TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations is a prestigious tournament that showcases some of the best young talent from across the continent. It provides a platform for players to showcase their skills and develop their game, and Remmane is eager to see Algeria continue to participate in future editions.

“Our goal is always to compete at the highest level, and the U17 AFCON is a great opportunity for us to do that,” he said. “We have to keep working hard and improving in all areas, so that we can come back stronger next time.”

In conclusion, Algeria’s exit from the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations was a disappointment for the hosts, but head coach Arezki Remmane remains positive about the team’s future. Despite the defeat to Morocco, he was proud of the effort that his players put in and believes that they can learn from the experience and come back stronger next time. The U17 AFCON is an important tournament for the development of young players in Africa, and Algeria’s participation in future editions will be eagerly anticipated.
