Algiers, Algeria – (African Boulevard News) – Congo forward Ayel Wumba Niati has said his team will focus all their energies on hosts Algeria, who they play on Friday to keep their quarter-final hopes of the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations alive.

The Congo U-17 national team, which is coached by Kader Ferhat, has yet to win a game in the tournament after a draw against Morocco and a defeat to Uganda.

However, Niati says the team is determined to make it out of their group and is fully focused on the match against Algeria.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game, but we’ve been working hard in training, and we know what we need to do to get the win,” said Niati. “We’re all focused on the game against Algeria and will be giving it everything we have.”

The match against Algeria is a must-win game for Congo, who need three points to stand any chance of advancing to the knockout stages of the tournament.

Despite their poor start to the tournament, Niati is confident that the team can turn things around and qualify for the next round.

“We know we haven’t performed at our best so far, but we have the quality in the team to go all the way,” he said. “We just need to take it one game at a time and focus on the task at hand.”

The TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations is a biennial football championship organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players aged 17 and under.

The tournament, which is currently taking place in Morocco, features 12 teams from across Africa, with the winner set to represent the continent at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

In conclusion, Congo’s Ayel Wumba Niati has said his team will be focused on winning their next match against Algeria in the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations. The team, which has yet to win a game in the tournament, needs a win to advance to the knockout stages and keep their quarter-final hopes alive. Despite their poor start, Niati is confident that the team can turn things around and qualify for the next round.
