Abuja, Nigeria – (African Boulevard News) – President, Junior Chambers International (JCI) of Abuja, Olubunmi Ajayi, has called on Nigerians to take their mental and physical health needs very seriously by regularly keeping fit and engaging in sports activities. His message came following the recent Abuja Fitness and Wellness Soccer Event which saw Team Baba emerge champions.
The event which held at the Old Parade Ground Abuja, was aimed at promoting healthy living and wellness amongst Nigerians, and saw over 20 teams across Abuja and its environs participate. After several weeks of intense matches, Team Baba emerged victorious, thanks to their impressive display of fitness and soccer skills, and also their team spirit.
Speaking after the event, President Olubunmi Ajayi, expressed his delight at the success of the event, and encouraged Nigerians to make fitness and wellness a lifestyle, not just something they do once in a while. In his words, “It is important that we take our health seriously, both physically and mentally. Engaging in sports activities like soccer is a great way to stay active and healthy, and it also helps to build team spirit and camaraderie.”
The event was not just a success for Team Baba, but it also saw the impressive performance of Crystal Palace U21. The team progressed to the finals of the tournament, and will now be representing Nigeria at the upcoming international soccer event in London. The team’s coach, James Boazman, was full of praise for his players and believes they have what it takes to lift the trophy.
“We are excited to be representing Nigeria at the international level. Our performance in the Abuja Fitness and Wellness Soccer Event was a testament to the quality of players we have, and we believe we can go all the way and bring the trophy home,” said James Boazman.
