Originally scheduled for 2021, the global pandemic forced a rescheduling which was then postponed once again in 2022 due to unpreparedness. However, the DRC has been working tirelessly to ensure a successful event.
Communications Minister, Patrick Muyaya, expressed his enthusiasm and confidence in the DRC’s ability to host the Francophonie Games. “We are excited to showcase the beauty and diversity of our country to the world. Despite the challenges we have faced, we are ready to welcome athletes, delegates, and spectators from across the Francophone community,” he said.
The Francophonie Games is a multisport event that brings together athletes from French-speaking countries around the world. With a focus on cultural exchange and sporting excellence, the games aim to foster friendship and cooperation among participants.
The DRC has been busy renovating and constructing state-of-the-art sports facilities to accommodate the various events.
