The situation is dire, with millions of people displaced from their homes, lacking access to food, clean water, and healthcare. According to the World Food Programme, over 8 million people are in need of urgent food assistance, while UNICEF estimates that over 4 million children are at risk of malnutrition.
Aid agencies on the ground are working tirelessly to provide assistance, but they are facing significant challenges. The ongoing violence and insecurity make it difficult to reach those in need, while limited resources and funding further hinder their efforts.
In a statement, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) called for immediate action to protect civilians and ensure unhindered access to those in need.
