Guterres highlighted the failures of the current system, stressing the need for deep structural change to ensure a more equitable and inclusive global economy.
During a summit in Johannesburg on Thursday (Aug. 24), Guterres emphasized that the financial system has not fulfilled its fundamental purpose as a global safety net.
